Towards Transparency in Jordan I

Towards Transparency in Jordan is the first conference organized by the Arab Archives Institute in May 1999. An opinion poll on Wasta was launched at the conference spurring reactions for weeks, months and years to come. Delegates of the Arab Archives Institute and partners at Transparency International convened with King Abdullah II during the one-day conference. One of the recommendations of Amra Declaration, which became the title of the conferences statement, called for the set-up of a chapter in Jordan for TI and increasing the work and activities in order to enhance transparency in Jordan.
